Marvelous Mashed Turnips
Turnip the heat on this dish. When you are looking for a mashed potato substitute, this veggie smash fits the bill. Serve it with the lean protein of your choice.

- 3 tablespoon(s) almond butter
- 5 turnips, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch rounds
- 1 dash(es) salt
- 1 dash(es) pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
Preheat oven to 325 F.
Melt the almond butter in a large baking dish by setting it in the oven until melted.
Put the sliced turnips in the baking dish and toss with the melted butter, the sprinkle the salt, pepper and cinnamon over them.
Lay a piece of parchment paper directly on top of the turnips, and wrap the baking dish tightly with foil.
Bake in the oven for 1 hour.
Remove from the oven, and use a fork or potato masher to mash the turnips coarsely.
Serve hot.
