Tasty Meatless Meatballs
These meatless meatballs taste even meatier than their real meat counterparts. If you're looking for a satisfying way to celebrate meatless Mondays, this is it. Every bit as the traditional Italian staple, nobody will care where the beef is.

- 16 ounce(s) firm tofu
- 3/4 cup(s) Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoon(s) egg whites
- 1 teaspoon(s) oregano
- 1 teaspoon(s) dried basil
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper
- 4 floz water
- 2 cup(s) tomato sauce
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Slice tofu and drain well.
In a large bowl, combine tofu, bread crumbs, onion, egg whites, oregano, basil, salt and pepper.
Mix well with a fork, mashing to blend ingredients.
Slowly pour water into mixture.
Shape mixture into large balls, squeezing tightly.
Place in shallow lightly oiled, nonstick baking pan.
Cover meatballs with tomato sauce.
Bake, uncovered, 30-35 minutes.
