Awesome Applesauce and Pork Chops

Apples and pork are the new power couples. Homemade applesauce is the perfect complement for this dish. Chop to it for a hearty meal. You can't go wrong.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/4 cup(s) honey
  • 1/3 tablespoon(s) coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) salt
  • 1 teaspoon(s) black pepper
  • 4 pork chops
  • 8 apples, peeled, cored and sliced
  • 2 lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) brown sugar
  • 1/10 teaspoon(s) ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon(s) olive oil

Instructions
 

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, coriander, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Place pork chops in a resealable plastic bag and marinade for 1 hour.
  • Meanwhile, placed the peeled, cored and quartered apples into a large pot.
  • Add the lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar and cloves.
  • Cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes, until the apples, are tender.
  • Remove from heat and use a potato masher to mash the cooked apples.
  • Set aside and keep warm.
  • Add oil to a large skillet and heat over medium-high heat.
  • Arrange the chops in the hot skillet.
  • Cook on high heat for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Cover and lower the heat to low.
  • Cook for another 5 to 7 minutes.
  • Serve alongside warm applesauce.
