
Low-Fat Caramel Popcorn
As convenient as it may be, microwave popcorn is so passe. Step up your efforts with a salty and sweet combo. This caramel treat is sure to be a movie night pleaser, so pop to it and make a batch tonight!
Ingredients
- 1 cooking spray
- 1 tablespoon(s) light butter
- 1 cup(s) brown sugar
- 1/2 cup(s) honey
- 1 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) 100% pure baking soda
- 1 teaspoon(s) vanilla
- 8 cup(s) air popped popcorn
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250 F.
- Place popcorn in a large bowl.
- Spray a pan with cooking spray.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt butter.
- Stir in brown sugar, honey, and salt.
- Bring to a boil over medium-low heat.
- Remove from heat and stir in soda and vanilla.
- Pour the mixture over the popcorn.
- Stir until kernels are coated evenly.
- Place in baking dish and bake for 15 minutes; stir.
- Continue baking for another 15 minutes.
- Let cool until the caramel has almost hardened.
- Break into pieces and serve.
