
Surf and Turf
Steak and shrimp… When you’re trying to scale back on the same old dinners, opt for this healthy endeavor that combines meat and seafood. It’s the best of both worlds in one great dish.
Ingredients
- 4 steaks
- 1/4 cup(s) olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoon(s) salt
- 2 tablespoon(s) pepper
- 16 ounce(s) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 4 floz white wine
- 2 tablespoon(s) butter light
- 1 juice of lemon
- 2 tablespoon(s) white wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon(s) soy sauce
- 1/4 cup(s) honey
- 1 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Place the steaks in a skillet and sear on both sides for 2 minutes on each side.
- Add 1 teaspoon of oil, 1 clove of garlic, 1/2 tablespoon of salt and pepper.
- Turn the steak every minute until it reaches your desired doneness.
- Remove the steaks, keep warm and set aside.
- Meanwhile, preheat a large saute pan over medium-high heat.
- Add a drizzle of 1 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Saute garlic and season the shrimp with salt and pepper and add to the pan.
- Add the white wine and cook for 2 minutes.
- Add the butter and juice.
- Cook for 5 minutes.
- Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the remaining olive oil, vinegar, soy sauce, honey, cayenne pepper and remaining salt and pepper.
- Drizzle sauce over steak and shrimp.
- Serve.
