Ingredients
  

  • 2 garlic, cloves
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 teaspoon(s) extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 cup(s) red pepper, chopped
  • 1 carrots, peeled and shredded
  • 8 ounce(s) extra lean ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon(s) garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon(s) prepared yellow mustard
  • 1/3 tablespoon(s) ketchup
  • 1/2 tablespoon(s) maple syrup
  • 4 whole wheat hamburger buns
  • 1 avocado, sliced

Instructions
 

  • In a medium skillet over medium heat oil and add the garlic, onion, red pepper, carrots to the skillet and cook until the vegetables are tender, about 4 minutes.
  • Set aside.
  • Next add the ground beef and cook with the lid on until browned.
  • Drain any fat from the pan.
  • Stir in the garlic powder, mustard, ketchup, and maple syrup.
  • Add the vegetables and stir to combine.
  • Reduce heat to medium and cover.
  • Let cook for about 20 minutes.
  • Serve on whole wheat buns.
  • Top with avocado slices.
