
Spicy Grilled Shrimp
Some like it hot, which is why these grilled shrimp are in such high demand. Nicely marinated and perfectly grilled, they are ideal for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 32 ounce(s) fresh shrimp, deveined and peeled
- 3 ounce(s) garliccloves, minced
- 1/4 cup(s) olive oil
- 1/3 cup(s) tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoon(s) red wine vinegar
- 2 tablespoon(s) fresh basil, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon(s) salt
- 1/4 teaspoon(s) chili powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, stir the garlic, olive oil, tomato sauce, and red wine vinegar.
- Season with basil, salt, and chili powder.
- Add shrimp to the bowl, and stir until evenly coated.
- Cover, and refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour, stirring once or twice.
- Preheat grill for medium heat.
- Thread shrimp onto skewers, piercing once near the tail and once near the head.
- Throw away sauce.
- Lightly oil grill grate.
- Cook shrimp on preheated grill for 2 to 3 minutes per side, or until opaque.
