
Rice Pudding
If you’re on a budget, watching your wallet and your waistline, this recipe fits the bill. Using some common kitchen staples, this after-dinner offering is sure to satisfy the sweet tooth.
Ingredients
- 8 floz water
- 1 dash(es) salt
- 1/4 cup(s) rice
- 3 teaspoon(s) sugar
- 1/2 cup(s) egg substitute
- 3 cup(s) skim milk
- 2/3 cup(s) raisins
Instructions
- Place the water, rice and a dash of salt in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and cook for 20 minutes.
- Combine the rice, sugar, raisins, egg replacement and milk in a large pot.
- Cover and cook over low heat, stirring occasionally, for about 45 minutes to an hour, or until most of the milk has been absorbed.
- Serve warm.
