
Homemade Bread
Bypass the bakery in favor of your own home-baked bread. Slice it whatever way you want. It’s the perfect way to introduce your family to fresh baking.
Ingredients
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 18 floz warm water
- 9 teaspoon(s) granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon(s) salt
- 2 tablespoon(s) canola oil
- 6 3/4 cup(s) wheat flour
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast in a bowl of warm water.
- Add sugar, salt.
- and oil and 3 cups of flour, then stir until smooth.
- Add in remaining flour, 0.
- 5-cup at a time, until a dough forms.
- Place dough onto a floured surface and knead until dough is smooth and elastic.
- This may take about 8-10 minutes.
- Place dough into a prepared bowl, turning over to ensure top of dough gets coated.
- Cover and let rise in a warm place until it is doubled.
- This should take about 1.
- 5 hours.
- Punch dough down.
- Place dough onto a floured surface and cut in half.
- Place each dough into a greased 9×5-inch loaf pan and mold dough.
- Cover and let rise again until doubled.
- This should take another 30-45 minutes.
- 0Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for until bread is 3golden brown or for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let cool.
- Slice.
