
Non-Dairy Grits
It’s time to get down to the nitty-gritty. Literally. These gourmet grits are the best from North to South. Prepared dairy free, we promise they are sure to start the morning or evening off right.
Ingredients
- 1 cup(s) almond milk or non-dairy milk of your choice
- 3/4 cup(s) coconut cream
- 1/2 tablespoon(s) maple syrup
- 1 teaspoon(s) salt, divided
- 1/2 cup(s) quick-cooking grits
- 1 dash(es) pepper
- 1/2 cup(s) blueberries
Instructions
- Bring non-dairy milk, coconut cream, syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to a boil in a small saucepan over high heat.
- Slowly whisk in grits, reduce heat to medium-low.
- Stir, remaining salt and pepper.
- Cover and cook, stirring occasionally until thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Top with fresh blueberries.
- Serve hot.
- in shredded cheese, salt and pepper, and continue stirring until cheese is melted throughout.
